Seeing red arrows in Allied Imperial factions yesterday - Anyone else???

I hate to cry bug, but this has never happened before, and I applied the new patch yesterday and saw this for the first time.

I have been using this new tool to plot a trade loop:

It is a great tool to plot a trade loop…
I am only putting this link in as it is a great new tool. In no way am I blaming this tool for the issue I saw.

Anyway, it is a 4 trade loop, all going to Imperial stations run by Imperial sub factions.
Here is what I was seeing yesterday:
After completing the second stop, I noticed my rep was showing a downward red arrow from the Empire and the controlling sub faction. WHAAA???
Completed another run and saw the same thing. HUHHH???
Finished my loop and still red with Empire and the last controlling sub faction. OKKK???
Logged and came back on, only to see the Empire was clear and the controlling sub faction was now pointing upward and blue.
.
Ok, so I began another run and saw the same thing again. By the time I finished 4 loops it did not seem to appear anymore.

Has anyone seen this lately? I know it could not have been what I was doing; all systems were not in boom or expansion, so I don’t think I was stepping on any sub factions toes by trading between these systems. I was doing this prior to the update, just not doing this loop.

It sounds like you've maxed out your Imperial Status (got the Major Faction invisible bar all the way to the top), this "bug" happens when you are maxed out (Ive seen it off and on since 1.1 IIRC).

So you're maxed, and it thus shows a down arrow (which is kind of wacky, but it seems if the bar doesn't have an Up arrow left it displays a Down arrow).

Your minor factions rating depends on your major factions a bit, so as it is "dipping"(read: 100% and nowhere to go) then it's influencing their displays, which is why when you've reloaded it shows them as Up arrows again.

That is odd and here is why:
I always check the BB for the minuscule donations for the controlling Imperial factions. I take them and donate. While my arrows were down, I made a donation. The next screen showed the rep bar not even 3/4 full. Or am I reading your post incorrectly?

Yes, it's Major Faction that I am saying is maxed (the Empire), the minor factions (Empire Sub-Factions, like Patrons Principles or Citizens Forum etc.) are influenced by this figure (but it's hidden from the player).

When a major faction gets maxed you get the blue arrow "bug", but it soon disappears as you've pointed out. You've nothing to worry about.

Ok, I never really knew what the blue arrow was. I thought it was I was in their good graces and they liked what I was doing for them.
You state major faction, meaning the Empire? I am currently Earl, and not participating in PP.
Another question: Do I need to participate in PP to get the continuing ranks?

I've never bothered with PP and have ranked from Lt.Com to Post Com with the Feds, and from Earl to Marquiss with the Empire.

I was Earl before PP arrived and was in Fed space getting to gold bar (I believe that's when the subfaction is maxed as far as Rep gain towards promotion) with around 12 Fed Subfactions trying to get Post Com. When I finally got the rank I headed back to Empire Space and got offered promotion on docking...did it, nothing, did it again..Marquiss.

I did do about 12mil of scans of Fed Space while Earl, selling them at an average of 500-700Ks worth at Imperial border systems, so I think those 12m of scans earned me the Marquiss promo.

I see. I am only seeing gold bars now with all sub factions. I am Earl, and am waiting for the new progressions, but have not seen them since the update

I'd move on, sounds like you're done with the local subfactions (as far as progress for rank), go 30-60ly away and gold bar a few more Empire Subfactions and move on until the progression missions appear. Higher ranks need more subfactions gold bar'd...Like the 12+ new friends I had to make to go Lt.Com. to Post Com. with the Feds.

This probably means I need 24+gold bars more to get from Marquis to Prince (?) or whatevers next.

Thanks bud. I hate to move on, the trading in this area is AMAZING! I am Post Commander, is there any higher ranks in the Fed? ATM is there any benefits to these higher ranks?

There's 3 new Fed ranks above Post Com. all the way to Admiral I believe.

TBH I was only going for Post Com. as it was what I was doing before 1.3 dropped. There's no current ship or module for these ranks, the Federal Corvette is on the drawing board, so maybe some reason for the rank, but not currently.

Being Higher rank cuts down costs on repairs and reloads (or is stated as being meant to, but IDK exactly how that works).
