Seeing seasons change and seasonal mechanics

Not sure if this has already been discussed (new on the forum)
I wouldn't mind to see the seasons change while playing the game. See the changes in trees, and flowering plants. Also with seasons have more accurate weather snowstorms during winter, dry summers, rain having the chance to overflow lakes, ground get more mudy or swampy from too much rain. This could also get animals to act accordingly to the seasons, mating times, get winter coat...
Having seasons and more interactive weather could add a new layer of difficulty to the game, also having the weather create more challenges depending if the player if playing Easy/Medium/Hard Mode. Of course it could be an option we could turn on and off depending on the player mood.
Of course get the seasons available for everyone as a free update.

I’d love for it to happen, but it won’t (we’ve been told by Chante, the former community manager). For weather events they said that the speed of time would mean seasons changing too fast. As for foliage, animal appearance changing, that’s even less likely - it’d require remodelling much of the foliage and many of the animals, which is a biiiiiiiiig job.

Really nice idea - thought about this and game mechanics for ages and I would think it would be hard to do - I don't know though. Not tech savvy - just love plants :)

have to agree with the other responses - as nice as it would look, it would require a lot of work; reimaging and recoloring so many trees - and more importantly, I can't imagine the processing that would take. The game is already a RAM eater (no disrespect intended, it's true though), adding something like that is probably not possible processing wise.

There's times I'm amazed at the snow on objects being so great. They had to code all that in somehow.
