Seeking an Imperial Clipper

in a station that is owned by "Patron's Principles"

if anyone can help with that?

Or is the information on http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Clipper also incorrect that being allied with the station owner doesn't require Baron, but Squire? I'm allied with the Empire as a whole, and it wouldn't let me purchase it. What makes me especially angry is that when I checked the station with my Viper, it did not say that, it let me click purchase - because apparently the check for reputation only comes when the check for assets is positive. Flew my stupid Type 7 here for no reason now...

Isn't that Empire Party?

Hmmm.... You might be right. I stopped trading out of there a couple days ago, but I'm allied with both Empire Party and Patron's Principles, and the Clipper was available to me there at rank "Master". My bad.

Baron or above

Not true.

I'm a Knight and I can purchase it at many different Empire faction ports. I got Patron's Principle and Empire allied and I've found I'm allied with other Empire factions with having done nothing with them which may be why I can purchase it early.
It might be that once you are allied with the Empire you are by default allied with all Empire factions? Need more evidence to support this.

Being allied makes a difference when buying the Clipper.

Yep, same here, got mine at rank Knight

i bought mine at Master in an empire station. I had to either log off or undock and redock after I got the master rank for the purchase button to work..! I don't think I was allied to the station at the time..

I have the same problem.
I'm Knight rank and allied to the faction controlling Syromyatnikov Horizons in Nu system.
I can not buy the clipper. Says I need to be Baron or higher.

Thanks FD for fixing that bug, which let you get it at lower rank.
But NOT thanks for NOT fixing the rank progression mission. Have not seen one for more than a week...

Before I had the money, it seemed to me that I could buy the clipper without the rank :(

You're allied to the Empire, which incorrectly lists all Empire factions as allied instead of their true relationship. You can find out your real level by completing a mission.

I could still buy it as of yesterday so I don't think FD did anything.

Are you allied or just friendly with the Empire, too? Again I think it's the getting allied with the Empire that allows purchasing the Clipper at a lower rank.

Umm no, I am friendly to the empire. I am really allied to the subfaction, as that was the station where I made all my empire rep.

Yup being only friendly is the difference. Get more Empire rep. Do not do any missions for factions not listed as part of the Empire.

So - did you manage to buy one? (I couldn't test because I got to Earl before having the credits for a Clipper).

Saisiyat, Dalgarno Ring station belongs to Patron's Principles and sells Clippers.

Alright I went there and I can not buy the damn thing. I am allied with Patron's principles, when I complete missions for them it says so.
I did 3 days of missions for them at Liaedin. I am a Knight. Why can I not buy the stupid thing?

Can I actually become a Baron after I've maxed out Fed rank or is it really just 14 playable ships right now?
