Seeking answers regarding the Jera Civil War

So today, in the absence of any combat missions in Jera (they all showed up as I as about to log off), I went on a killing spree against all Social Democrat ships that I could find.

Clean, wanted, authority, trader, pirate, police. It didn't matter to me, I even destroyed an entire funeral procession and the authority ships that turned up to save them. That ought to scare the hell out of the civilian population. Their government can't even protect their dead.

So after a day of great fun and I mean really great fun, I am left with a 200,000cr bounty on my head and the Social Democrats are hostile to me. Especailly after I snuck into their station, dropped off some weapons to the Nationalists, and they came out guns blazing against the local security ships.

What I'm also left with are a few questions:

1) Does this indiscriminate killing of this factions ships count against them in the Civil war? Does killing traders help or just Authority ships? Or do only missions and warzone kills count?

2) If I die in Jera having last docked in the Nationalist station 'Moore Dock', do I have to pay off my bounty with my insurance?
I know if I was docked last in a neighouring system where I have no bounty I wouldn't, but what happens during a civil war, does it take into account the owners of the last station docked?

3) If we sell goods on the black market on the Social Democrats stations, does this help them or their opponents?
Hope none of the black market operator's family were traders. Probably sold their own families goods back to them.

So what I am asking at the end of the day is have I been any help to Nationalists or am I just going to hell?

Rather, I am going to hell but have I helped the Nationalists?

If someone from FD could give some actual facts here, it wold be great. On the other hand random killing is pretty fun too, so in the end it doesn't really matter.

Please note that the slaughter of the Funeral procession was entirely my own doing and was not at the beckoning of either the Nationalists or Imperial agents. They should be no course for repercussions against Nationalist civilians or POWs held by the Social Democrats.

Another quick question to add to the list:

Which idiot in that ineffectual Social Democrat government decided that Checkpoints in space would be a good idea?

It's not a road, you can't just block the way.

What is the point of these ridicolous locations?

By the way you might want to reinforce these locations. If you go looking for the one near Mitchell Dock all you will find is debris.
(Well you would but by now the game will have respawned the location.)

Please FD what are the point of these if they are just a static location with 3 authority ships and some nav beacons? Have some traders and smugglers spawn in so atleast it doesn't look dead.

If we're supposed to just kill them to help the Nationalists, that's fine, but atleast outline to us the actual game mechanics so we know such things will actually make a difference.

Really loving this game and can't wait to see how the stories unfold but really losing my will to participate when I'm just swinging in the dark here.

I'm not asking for the Devs to spoil any suprises in the story and give us set instructions on how to play the scenarios. Just want to know what the rules are.
