Newcomer / Intro Seeking Bromelite to buy, anyone with a Fleet Carrier selling?

Engineer Bill Turner wants 50 units of Bromelite.
Can't find a station on eddb.io selling it. The few Fleet Carriers with it in stock on eddb.io are not accepting docking requests or have moved.
I'd rather fly several hundred light years across the bubble and pay 10 million credits for the 50 units than mine it myself, 'cause I hate mining in any form and I've only just sold off every piece of mining kit I had.

Unlikely, it is a prime Mission commodity.
Anyone selling openly is likely to be cleared out within minutes, even if the price is silly.

It will literally take you less time to build a mining ship, find a metal-rich planetary ring and mine it yourself than to find a person who sells it, then fly there and buy it. ...or to ask on forums, then waiting two days and then to go buy it.
It really is merely an hour of honest work. If you're really unlucky. Otherwise it's like 20 minutes of mining.

Why do so many people dislike mining and are willing to go to hell and back, spending unholy amount of time any money just to avoid it?

Whereas I have taken some of one of my accounts' fleet to a remote system just so I can mine in various surrounding systems whilst I chill out and "fiddle" with the minor factions with the mined commodities. OK so I have other accounts to do other things as the fancy takes me but even so, it can be very Zen-like.

its a mining only item.
people that have it because they are mining it are probably filling all those 50mil missions.
It can be bought from some though.
As Chris up there said, very true. if you think mining is a pain or boring or whatever, contacting the right carrier owner is going to most likely make mining look fun.
Good Luck.

I don't like mining either..falling asleep at the keyboard isn't much of a game.
paint drying...
water evaporating
filling hourglasses with special sand..
cleaning cutter windshield's..
but, sometimes you have to do something you don't want to in order to progress.

I think it is down to a dislike of crawling through tunnels lit only by the candle on your space helmet.

Actually the experience can as @Para Handy says be very Zen like as long as you don’t set yourself unrealistically tight time limits.

after I got Bill Turner,
in many missions they offered to settle bromelite,
and when I was digging I pretended to be flying to dig painite, according to the advice
experienced miners so that Lord Braben does not know about it
and his stormtroopers

It's interesting: I decided to make a quick buck so I visited a pristine metal-rich planetary ring and found exactly no bromellite! I then tried a pristine metallic planetary ring - nothing. Sheesh. Usually, it's just like @Chris Simon says and I'm surrounded by the stuff when I'm out gathering something else!

I can't say that I know how to pretend that I'm mining something else. Tips to make this strategy work are appreciated 🙃

Well, first pro-tip would be to check your contacts for a bromelite you've put on an ignore list. ;)

Not surprised you can't find any there - you get Bromellite only in Icy rings.

BTW - I don't know why FD have decided it should be found there - on Earth it is found in igneous rocks, specifically in manganese-iron deposits. ¯\(ツ)

It's really quite interesting that there are still some players out there that know how to play, know how to use different ships for different tasks, know how to use ships for what they were designed for, and still know how to help others without mocking them. Quite rare in forums these days...LOL :) o7 Chris.

I love mining even though Frontier messed with the hotspots a bit, Bromelite is still pretty common to yield though. ^^^^^ listen to this guy, always helped me with every rock I hit...lol
Hehehehe except that planet that had a grav of 6+ and took a nose dive in a Cutter....Youtube quality but not a very good money maker.

Yeah, now that I read my post again, it does sound a bit edgy. I could have worded it differently and give it a gentler tone. :D

Still, regarding what Para said, it suprises me that the Bromelite is not present in Metal-Rich rings, now. I wonder if they changed it recently or I just remember it incorrectly. It always seemed like one of those ores that are clogging my refinery no matter where I mine..

Nah, you're right. As a miner Odyssey somehow had a serious effect on mining as I've made a spreadsheet similar as show above but with the use of the different types of equipment modules over the last 3 years of what rings put out metals, materials, and minerals concerning where, percentages, level types, and primarily the new hotspot yields up until Odyssey. The saddest part is most of the hotspots are completely messed up due to some don't even have the material the the hotspot describes. /facepalm. go figure on that one...lol
I still don't understand how Odyssey managed to mess up mining but it is what it is I suppose...:)

Oops. You know, I have that fine chart (likely thanks to you). If I had taken a look...
Sometimes we forget what we've got onhand!

So much for sensible. At least water is to be found in Icy rings...

If Cmdr themselves in this situation needing mined materials for engineering or a mission, try FCOC on discord, plenty of fleet carriers horde mines goods that they willingly sell.
