Seeking Explorers - Both Experienced and New

Hi Chaps and Chappets, put the kettle on and sit back and enjoy :) This minor faction has been set-up for people who want to play with the background system and watch their minor faction grow. It’s for beginners, dabblers and experts. We desperately need experience explorers.

It is also protected by the watchful eye of Utopians and Sirius. It is power play independent and you can come and go as you please from the group. There already is a mixture of new and experienced players who can share their knowledge and company. The faction is looking for new members, tutors, students, role-players and moderators. You are welcome to the Guardians of Harmony whether you’re are a lone wolf or part of a pack.

A bit of background. The Guardians of Harmony was created by the Antal Subreddit as a power play independent faction for people who want to realy get in to the game or just dabble. You do not need to be allied with any power at all and if you are it really doesnt matter. The Antal Power's only role is to provide escorts and protection for explorers and new players when requested. It is an international faction and has already got support from other factions and powers, such as Da vinci Code (DVC), Sirius, Communism Interstellar, Order of Lipdar and so on.

I'm also intrigued by this. The only thing concerning me is the "play 1 session per week in open play in the bubble" I'll be going on the 'Distant Worlds' exped and will be away for potentially months. This will probably preclude me.

Darnit... I just realised you are bloomin Federals.

Forgot about those "minor" details out in the void.

Not so sure no more: I'll have to think about this one!!

:D

Being in a particular system in the bubble at least once a week is kind of a weird requirement for a group that claims to want explorers, the very group that tends to spend most of their play time outside of the bubble. Just saying..

I may be very very tempted :)

It doesn't matter to me if it's Federal, Imperial, or Alliance. I'm a lone-wolf but the thought of a decent base for explorers is very tempting indeed.

Plus this Utopia thing sounds very Culture-like ;)

They're Federation? Suddenly intrigued...

Not allied to any power or faction. It's come and go as you please.

Very good point. But it's early days and we have yet to map our local systems. What do you suggest? We've mapped everything with 15LY so far. We only went live yesterday. What do you suggest?

The following is just advice, I don't mean to step on any toes - but if I were to try and get explorers together, which are types of players who by definition don't stick at any one point for too long, I wouldn't try to tie them down to a system and would adopt more of an open door policy; when you're in the bubble, help is appreciated here and here, but of course everyone's free to go for longer trips. That kind of policy would, I suspect, attract more explorers, while reading that they're supposed to be in this or that place at least once a week can potentially repel a lot of them in my opinion, simply because it's incompatible with going on longer expeditions, which is what many explorers do.

In fact, a good example on how to get explorers together, and imho the best way to do it, would be the Distant Worlds expedition, which has all of them doing what they like doing in the first place without getting tied down to a particular system. Going strong with 50 members last time I checked :)

Sounds great! You had me until I read this:

Spend at least one session per week in the home system in open play

Yeah, I can't meet that criteria. As primarily an explorer I sometimes spend weeks without ever being in the bubble or even docking at any stations at all.

Good luck to all, I may hop by and turn some data in to get myself allied and help out, but I can't make the promise to be in system weekly.

Did you occupy the Science and Tech Museum in Valencia/Spain/Europe/Sol-3 made by Calatrava Architect 13 centuries ago? You must have high Fed connection if they let you set there your base.

Totally agree. I'm an independent CMDR and don't want to be tied down to anything. The only thing I have committed to solidly so far is the Distant Worlds exped. And that's because it's free form.
No criticism Ben. It's a great idea. Just a bit too restrictive for me.

Fair enough. That's why I changed the criteria. It makes sense and a dip in dip out policy was always the idea.

Sweet, that makes much more sense! When I get back from nebula hopping in a few days I'll turn my data in to Lorenz Hub, and maybe do a few missions while I'm there too. Might even grab my Clipper and do some mining for the cause too.

Thanks we are really new to this stuff so experience and explorers willing to learn in a safe environment (while playing with the back ground thingy) is just what we need. We need tutors.
