Seeking Goods signal source.

Before there used to be fixed seeking luxuries or seeking weapons signal sources. Inside there would be a T9 that would buy your cargo. Then it was changed to a blue mission related signal source that would randomly pop up.

Do these signal sources still exist? I’ve not seeing one in a long time, however I’ve also not really been looking.

Yes, they're still out there in systems where factions are in a Boom state. They usually want you to go and source some particular cargo then deliver it to a station.

However.... last time I tried one it directed me to an Odyssey Settlement to deliver the cargo, and the the faction who were to receive it wasn't there (there's only a single faction present at Odyssey Settlements), so no chance to complete it. Not sure if that's been fixed in the last couple of updates.

They definitely still exist.

Only a few days ago, I took an assassination mission, jumped to the target-system, saw a "mission-related" POI, dropped in and found...erm, a T9.
I thought it was a bit odd but then I got a "What gifts do you bring for the Pirate king?" message and then it started shooting, so I spaced it.

And then I realised I was now Wanted.
And then I realised I was still getting shot at by some yahoo in a Cobra.
And then I realised there was an unread message in my comm's HUD.

Seems that, upon entering the system, the T9 had sent me a "trader" message, thus activating a new mission-related POI, which I'd mistaken for my assassination-related POI.
Ten seconds after I arrived in the trader POI, my assassination target did drop in and sent the "pirate king" message.
After that, the T9 must've been attacked by my target and returned fire, which made me think the T9 was shooting at me.

Admittedly, mistakes were made but I think we all learned valuable lessons that day. 😐

Stealthie, are they marked as "seeking goods" in the nav panel any more, or just signal sources, unless you resolve them with the fss or by scanning the nav beacon?

Was just wondering if this is why they seem more elusive to the op, as before the fss (I think) the signal sources all used to have the type on them without doing the beacon, but this is a good few years ago.

Cheers in advance bud.

they are just a uss
as long as you are in a system that has them as well as upon system entry, you get a message saying mission related USS found
Depending on the faction type and its state will dictate what type. But I'm not sure various types exist any more.
Most common that I see very often is simple goods trade, they will send you a message that is a mission if you accept it.
It is usually caused by a faction being damaged continually.
I have not seen the old variations you mentioned since pre-Horizons TBH. I used them a lot back then. Sometimes there would be 3 t-9's all together.

There are some in a couple of my systems at this time, state = none, but the factions putting them out are oppressed.

Thanks for the info Miles, much obliged.

This really made me chuckle

I guess you're supposed to notice the message in your comm's HUD, which'll tell you there's a trader looking to buy/sell stuff and make you aware there's an associated "mission related signal" in your Nav' HUD.

I, of course, just saw a line of the Nav' HUD highlighted in blue, figured it was the location of my assassination target and dropped in with a "shoot first and ask questions never" attitude.

Lol understood mate, thanks for the explanation. I did laugh at your story though, it's the sort of thing I would do as well!

You can help when one spawns because you get a "mission objective detected" notification, and when you check the relevant uss (which may not be on your contact list at the time) it'll be a blu mission style one as op said.

Relevant state is usually boom or investment, maybe mix in some civil liberty since these usually come hand in hand. They are rare though, not like the old days where they were fixed poi everywhere.

When you drop in on one, you get offered a mission to bring some goods. Again, not like the old days.
