Seeking goods- which ones?

Just stumbled across a few of the 'seeking goods' traders in a single system.
I've no clue what they are looking for and the forum search didn't say much- could someone give me a hand?
Thanks!

I think I remember being told (quite a while ago) to use a cargo scanner on any ships interacting with the trader.

Edit:
Or possibly the trader him/her self.

Yes, use a cargo scanner.

But unless they changed it, the type of goods they take is extremely limited. Luxory for example being performance enhancers only.

It tells me it wants my stocks. I went there with full cargo od performance enhancers, but they don't seem to be after that. What kind of stocks are they talking about?

A complete waste of time mechanic. Unannounced, and no-one knows who they are, or what they want. Grow up FD.

What?

There are various traders that;
1) Appear at their own signal sources triggered by the states of the Factions within the system.
  • This includes Seeking Good who buy Legal Highs such as Tobacco in Eotienses currently, usually triggered by a Bust as they are a black market for rationed luxuary goods
  • Seeking Weapons in systems that have a war on going, buying Battle weapons. My favourite hobby at the moment
  • Seeking Food in Famine Systems buying up food cartridges.

2) Appear in USSes and are buying goods based on the system type and it;s major export.
  • This is ships like Ariel buying Tea in Sgri Systems
  • Technology Inc buying Computer components in Industrial systems.
  • The Mineral Magpie buying Rutile In Extraction systems
  • And a waste processing one that buys Toxic Waste

They have comms chatter to give clues to what they are after, and failing that you can cargo scanner to confirm

Fly close with the good in question and get paid top dollar but nothing stupidly so that it is imbalanced.
