Well, I found something new (to me) today: those seeking luxuries NPCs can disappear.
Previously, on several occasions, I've been to system LP 390-16 and there I traded Performance Enhancers with the Seeking Luxuries guys. Last time I was there in my Asp which is kitted out for long distance and exploring, so doesn't have so much cargo space - I bought a type 6, stripped it down, maxed the cargo, and did a few PE runs to boost the credits so I had enough for the Asp's insurance (quite a lot
). Anyhow, once I had enough credits, I parked the T6 and went off exploring and stuff.
Today, I'm messing around equipping a Viper and I found myself running low on credits (the beam lasers I wanted are half a mill each) so I tooled off to the aforementioned system, swapped into the T6, bought some PEs and set off... No Seeking luxuries guys in the system. They've gone. There were 2 lots of them, previously, in 2 different places. Now there are none So I sold the T6 and used the money to buy the lasers.
Now I need to find another system with high tech bases making PEs and seeking luxuries guys to trade with - this really does seem the best way to grind credits. Or I could do some rare goods from Leesti, Diso and Lave. But that takes a while, although it makes a decent amount of credits.
