Started playing in VR again after the best part of a year away from the game.
i am in Deciat and am allied with the local governing faction. I’m also friendly with the 2nd faction, Kremata inc, who also own the nearby system of Kremata. I took an assassination mission from Kremata Inc which required me to go to a land base in Kremata to scan for info on the target’s whereabouts.
After finding the base I was in the process of setting down on the moon to go scan the data link in my srv. As I was landing, I must have been too close to the base and got a trespass fine. Having not played for so long I am unfamiliar with the game mechanics so continued to try and land. All of a sudden all hell broke loose and the local defence drones started firing at me and I made a hasty retreat with a heavily damaged ship.
That all sounded fine as I assumed that particular base was owned by the target or his faction but as I was back in supercruise I noticed I was now wanted in the entire system ... which was owned by the same organisation who had sent me to the base in the first place!
i made a quick stop at a space station in Kremata (docking quickly so none of the defence forces would scan me and start shooting), made my repairs and then flew back to Deciat where I was able to pay off a fine to Kremata inc and clear my name.
it seems rather silly to have a bounty placed on my head by the same organisation for whom I was trying perform services for, especially given the bounty was caused by my performing that contract. Am I missing something?
Anyway, as revenge for their backstab, I’m going to go the role playing route and will find any missions I can that involve working against Kremata Inc. and hopefully hurt the gits.
