Seems like I don't have all of the items

So I've been playing this for almost a week now and I'm wanting to start to develop and create my own stuff, such as bathrooms, and shops, but it seems like I'm missing something, whether that may be additional items and even the editable signs. I even have a section for signs but they are not there. I don't know if they didn't download with the rest of the game or if I have to find some on the workshop. Any helpful advice is encouraged.
Thank you

The objects for buildings and scenery are mixed up. The organization definitely leaves something to be desired. Have you looked for signs in the buildings tab? There are signs in both the scenery tab and the building tab. Lights are in both tabs also.

Its a little confusing at first but after you've built a few coaster stations and amenity buildings you start to get sort of an idea for where things are located. Even with all the hours I've put into building stuff, I still have trouble finding things. Hopefully, you found what you were looking for.

Another thing I just thought of: When looking for general things always make sure to reset your filters and clear the search box before digging into the tabs. One time I forgot to do that and became really frustrated because I couldn't find any of the lights I was looking for. A couple minutes later, I realized I had "brick" typed in the search box.[where is it]

Yeah, the way the filters work is a bit annoying in that they clear when you don't want them to and hang around and apply themselves to things you don't want them to. Every time you leave the building tab and come back, the filters disappear. This happens like if you're making a building and want to add a light from the scenery tab, then go back to the building tab. And the various filters apply to things they shouldn't, such as building materials keeping you from seeing lights.

Another issue with the filters is it's hard to search for stuff by name because many things don't have the name you'd expect. Some of this is the conflict between Brit and US English, some of it is just not having a consistent naming system. For example, there are 4-wheeled vehicles that are named "wagons", "carts", "trams", and "caravans". All of them look like wagons to me, but if you type "wagon" into the search box, you only get the subset that actually have "wagon" in their names. So you just have to learn the names of things, which takes time and experience.

this is so true, finding items has always been difficult for me in these games, especially as they grow and grow. Just have to memorize a lot of things.

hopefully some UI tweaks can improve things in time

I felt the same way when I started. I'd watch some YouTube videos of some well known Planet Coaster people such a Channel 5 Gaming for ideas. The items are all there but you need to be creative. They show off a lot and give some good ideas about how you can reuse different building pieces in creative innovative ways that you just wouldn't really think about. For example, take a column pillar, hold the shift key to lower it almost all the way to the ground and now you have a nice fancy stub to put a flower pot on top of. Im just spit balling a simple example here...lol. Just think outside of the box with every item that exists and you're world will open right up! :D Hope this helps!
