Selectable trains (from Workshop)

I think we are too far in development process to implement bigger features. Still I would like to lay out this suggestion as I feel this would make most of the customising feature.

It was always a bit strange that different trains counted as different rides. For example the Wendigo and Dragon are both identical coasters (same track / supports / options / etc) yet they counted as 2 different rides just because of the train design. The same logic applies to tracked rides and we see a lot of example's over here. Iron Horse and Connie express are identical rides, just a different train. Same for the Sleighride, Magic Cats and Luna Cars.
I would love to go back to the RCT3 days where you build your track and then select the desired car or train. Have to say, later in Planet Coaster 1's lifespan we were already able to select a certain train type.

It has been confirmed we can customise our trains and cars now and upload it into the workshop. Now in most cases I want to design my own ride and layout, however it would be very nice if we would be able to download just the train/car design from the workshop. So I can build my own coaster or tracked ride, and then select which train I want. For example with the Junior coaster I would be able to select either Wendigo train, Dragon train, or one of the trains I downloaded from the workshop.

Last but not least, this would also open up the possibility of adding more train designs with DLC without adding an entire new coaster.

In a very perfect world (but a further stretch) this can also be done with some Gondola's for flat rides. For example the tea cups can be tea cups by default, but a second set of gondola's could be barrels for example. And ofcourse, also an option to use a themed gondola from the workshop if you like.

This represents my thoughts and feelings on this as well. Making otherwise identical rides separate entries in the ride list just add's unnecessary bloat and ,were one to be uncharitable, might suggest an attempt to conceal the relatively low ride count that PC had compared to other games in the genre. Granted, the relative production time of each is probably a lot more in PC than those games, but the point still stands.

I'de like to add that this would also be helpful due to the ability to add a barebones shell for the cars. I think the Teacups cited by Vampiro is a prime candidate for this - the teacup design is a classic and the form that ride is best known for, but that's largely because the most well known example was themed to Alice in Wonderland. Being teacups somewhat pigeon-holes the design, which having changeable options would overcome.

Oh I really hope so. Yes you could share an unbuilt coaster in the workshop to share a custom train, but what if you want to add someone's train to your already built ride with an intricate station because it would be perfect? Would be an absolute pain to swap out.
