Newcomer / Intro Selecting ships

Hi..

Do you have to be at the same dock as another one of your ships to switch into it?.. or is there way to select another ship that u own.. if its docked far away?

As far as I'm aware, you have to be at the same station and there's no way to "transport" your ship without flying it.
