Sell crew when Elite? And Super Insurance

If you train your crew you should be able to sell them or be made offers, like a transfer market.

Elite crew must be worth 5+ mil credits?

My other idea of super insurance works on a similar based as crew taking a percentage of income. You so don't have a large amount to pay on a re-buy screen as you pay a % over time. This will reduce combat logging and bring more players to open. My re-buy is 27 mil credits, I would rather pay 5% of my income instead.

How much did it cost (your SLF pilot earnings) before they were Elite? I just don't think there would ever be a profit/point to being able to sell them.

I'm confused by the second part- you say you want to pay a percentage of your rebuy over time, then state you'd rather pay 5% of your income rather than your ship's rebuy cost of 27 million. I would much rather pay a rebuy than have 5% of my liquid credits taken. Also, what if you change ships? How often would your credits be withdrawn? You could blow up before you have the amount saved back for your rebuy, what then?
