There was another thread and poll that is now archived but I've managed to get rep from it even though its closed. So its been the single biggest thing burning me up right now playing is all these excess materials I'm going to have to jettison. The poll was majority said YES they do want to be able to sell their mats. Prices should reflect their rarity.
We really should be able to sell the materials.. Maybe not buy or trade but SELL.
In a realistic world / galaxy every part of scrap would attempt to be recovered. We have junk dealers who take junk and sell all the time. Scrap metal, car parts, junk dealers. I can put something out to the road that the garbage man won't pick up and it'll still be gone a day later.
You may not want us to trade materials or buy materials - but at LEAST allow us the ability to sell off excesses and the fruit of our labors. I have to jettison excess in which I could have sold for cash.
Now that we need to use our scoops to get materials in some cases it is very time consuming - TIME = Money. So we should be compensated somehow for it.
The solution would be to have a Scrap / Junk dealer at "refinery" stations.
Selling material could be a profession - a highly profitable one since its is difficult to find the exact stuff you want.
