Sell old ships to buy same ones at discount.

Hey Cmdrs,

hope you're all doing fine.

I want to sell my old ships, that I didnt buy at a discount and buy the same ones from Li Yong Rui Systems. So is it true that you get only 90% back from the old ships? So it would only be a 5% savings. And does the LYR-discount only apply to the first same ship? In other words I cant buy a second or third Anaconda at a discount?

Another question: I did buy some ships at a discount but lost track which ones. Is there anyway to find out where I bought the ships? Or perhaps a other way to find out, that I bought a ship at a discount?

You lose 10% on the ship and everything in it. The discount applies to all sales. You can have a look at your journals and see if you can find where you originally bought them.

If you have an Elite rank then you get additional 2.5% discount, but I would wait for Christmas time, there were some CGs in the past that resulted in reduced price for Federal or Imperial ships up to 30%, if you add Li-Yong Rhui bonus then it's worth selling your old ships. Also, I believe Inara can record how much a ship costs but it gets changed when you install modules.

I tried to check the journal, but it seems i can only track back 19 hours. All my ships have already Modules in. So cant Check via inara :(

A lot of work and credits to take down your rebuy a little bit.

Consider a one billion credits cutter build with -lets say- a 50 million discount. This ship still costs 950 million after the swap. So the decrease in rebuy is very low (5%?). It is hardly worth the effort and credits even in the long run.

I was in the position to gains credits once by buying a new ship hulls. I rebought all my T10 module storage ships (10 of them) when the T10 was on discount. The discount was worth 50 million compared to my old buy price. So I got a cool 500 million credits flowing back to my bank account after swapping all the 10 T10s

When yoy can make between 100 mil and 200 mil per hour easily, there is absolutely no point in trying to saave any money. By the time you went to Diaguandri or wherever and spent all the time to change everything over, you could have made 100 mil killing pirates, mining platinum or doing sight-seeing missions. Credits are so easy to get now that you don't have to worry about what anything costs.

To get the most paid back from the old ship sell all modules first. Modules pay back 100 % of the purchase price.

After that sell the ship. Yes, you loose 10 % of the remaining overall value of the ship.

You can buy ships cheaper in Founder World by 10 % or in the Li Yong Rui Systems any time again and save 15 %.
