Sell Python for Anaconda?

Hi Should I sell my Python to buy an Anaconda?

I bounty hunt most of the time and I wonder if it's more fun to go for an Anaconda? Do ships blow up faster?

Totally depends on your load out and where you hunt/farm. Anaconda can kill faster, but needs more time to travel to the next target. Hence, is more suitable in areas with the targets traveling to your (conflict zone, compromised nav beacon).
For RES, a FDL, Clipper or Assault Ship might be even faster than the Python due to the speed & agility advantage.

I can't tell you what to do, but I waited until I could afford one of each. Making the Anaconda combat worthy takes a lot of money. And then there's the whole large landing pad thing.

Don't do it man!

I recently bought a 'Conda and then sold it again, just didn't tickle my pickle. Too slow for me. Didn't notice being able to kill things faster than I could with the Python as I just couldn't keep the weapons on target for long enough to make the most of them.

That said there are 2 things to bear in mind
1. Different stroke for different folks, you may love it.
2. The problem I had with the Conda was probably the chair - stick interface. There are some seriously good Conda pilots out there. You may be one and not know it yet.

If you want to hunt and kill things quick buy a FDL. I love my FDL. It's a one trick pony, but god is it good at that one trick.

This, exactly this. I kept my Python and bought the Anaconda (she's still only C rated now) A decent Python will serve you better in combat than a sub par Anaconda

Yes, yes and yes! Python is a really good ship but an Anaconda do the job a lot better.
With four gimballed pulse and little and medium ships blow up damn fast... for the bigger ones fit multi cannons.

The agility is really lazy in normal movment but in combat with the drifting ass you will get enemies a lot faster in your sight.

The Anaconda is my favorite combat ship and i like it more than my Corvette!

I wouldn't sell your python. It's just way too good of a ship to justify selling it for the credits.

The anaconda is a bit more situation than the python imo, because it has a large landing pad and is much slower.

I thoroughly enjoy both ships but I don't miss my Python that much. I thoroughly enjoy using the Conda as my "everything" ship. It has plenty of internals, lots of utility slots and once you get the A rated thrusters, it is a lot more fun to fly. The ship actually pitches a lot faster than you might think. It's an all around great ship, imo. I say go for it.

To add, if you enjoy bounty hunting a whole lot, nothing beats a Vulture, imo. Power issues aside, it's a fantastic hunter...probably the best in-game.

well an great fitted conda will be around 500+ Mcr.
the python is on bountys alot faster... and the FDL wins..
for trading is lower and fuel will burn very fast.

and conda with 448cargo and shields can trade about 1,2Mcr if you lucky.. thats means like 5-6Mcr / hour
like mine has a insurance of 31Mcr and without powerplay and stuff you can alone without problems haz res, but its only about 4 Milcr/H

Didn't sell my Python, but I did try outfitting my ThugConda for bounty hunting figuring the same thing, that I could down stuff faster. Yeah it doesn't quite work out that way. In bounty hunting a certain measure of speed and agility are preferable, and the Conda just didn't have it Especially the speed part. Granted, I'm not completely A-Rated, but even if I was I still can't imagine many situations where the Conda would stand head and shoulders above the Python in bounty hunting, so, I'm still rolling around RES in the Python for now.

Anaconda is great for Combat zones, military strikes, assassination, but is not no good for RES farming where an FDL will get you the maximum earnings per hour. With an Anaconda, you spend too much time chasing targets rather than shooting them. An FDL got me 1.8 billion in 4 weeks using powerplay bonuses.

I sold my python for the conda then when I had enough credits bought a python again. I like both ships, I like the python better because it can land on outposts. Both are now A rated and I use beams, multicanons and plasma accelerators.

I had Pythons since launch, bought anothe some time later and used it as trader (284 t), have rcently sold my combat Python , nearly 300 mill credit, and bought a FAS as dedicated combat ship. I have not looked back. The FAS is the Vultures big ,bad brother. The firepower and durability is amazing, it almost flies like a Vulture, has almost unlimited power ( 3 beams + Frag canon) and delivers a punch, and is who needs shields when you have 2500 armour :) , it is a perfect bounty hunter.
The ship is so agile that you routinely "cling" to your target at 150 meters and smother them with fire, smaller ships literally disintegrate when you hit them.

Keep your Python as a trader and buy a FAS.

Cheers Cmdr's

Thats interesting to hear. I have a hull tanked vulture that really feels OP in combat. It just takes a bit to wear down a bigger well armoured ship so I was wondering if the Python would be a better bet for a faster kill but from what you say the FAS would be the natural progression in this case ? Also do you feel the FAS turns as well as a vulture in close quarters ? I have a battle Anni but I find it a bit cumbersome in battle and a bit boring.

The FAS is a direct and natural upgrade to the Vulture, and much, much more durable. you can ram a 'Conda to death, takes 5-6 rams, but FAS survives :)

Great and cheap fun. Try it :) You will not be disappointed
It is so easy to target powerplant and stay in range so its laughable, when shields are down to hits from frag canon and Annie is dead in water.
The toughest opponents are dropships and other FAS's watchout ! Ferdies are so easy to kill it's a joke, they dont like incoming :) Pythons are just :)
Its good to be the King ;)

Like stated in this thread, conda is good for cz,... Not res.
Fdl/fas are the best for that.

And keep your python, you can use it for everything!

I did it ...

And I came back to Pyhton.

Say no more.

Haha, I did exactly the same... twice. I wanted really hard to like the conda but it's inability to land on medium pads and the cockpit position make me want my python back. So I settled with my python for now, maybe later I'll grab a tradeconda, but the python stays.
