Newcomer / Intro Selling commodities to FC's

Hello Commanders,
I am looking at the galaxy commodity map and I'm seeing several stations that are good prices for, lets say Painite, but then I'm seeing a FC that is showing and import marker for Painite but 4x the price of any station. Is there a way to tell if the FC is legit via import price least of all even open for trade at given price?

Thanks for any advice or information....o7 Commanders
PS. the FC is showing a Exploration marker and open landing if that makes any difference. :)

In a word... No. You can land on there and see if it's legit but in general, if it looks too good to be true it's probably not. I recall another post on here about a commander being attacked when going to the FC so I'd suggest you go there in solo (if you do).

I recently tried a 715k painite carrier and all was good. I got the full price and no issues. But some offer 715 and when you get there offer 400k!!

I don't think the market system or even off-site data base prices can be falsified by an FC owner or anyone else for that matter. What you see is very close to what you get. Jump on it before he either realizes his error or changes his mind. Heck he might even raise his offer before markets can update the new pricing. I'm pretty sure he's on the losing side of the coin if he's 4x market value, unless he's trying to drive down market prices (for a loss) buy flooding the market with painite. Who knows.

I love fleet carrier trading. Yes, it's important to have a good jump ship to get around the bubble fast and verify prices. Sometimes the prices are good, sometimes the purchase order has already been filled. Sometimes they are selling commodity too. I'm equal opportunity, if I see a good sale, I'll buy em out too.

Anybody who has enough credits to be able to afford a FC and maintain it isn't likely to be bothered by the price of Painite.
It might just be that it was bought as a novelty, and now the novelty has worn off it's effectively been abandoned and left until the money runs out. So you might get a bargain.

On the other hand it could be a gankers' bait trap. The concept that giving gankers an indestructible base that could hop around the universe was a a bad thing obviously didn't occur to Frontier.
