Engineers Selling engineered modules and weapons

Module storage is limited to 60 items. I like experimenting with engineered weapons a lot. So from time to time I hit this limit and have to sell some engineered stuff with a heavy heart - you'll never get it back.

To relief this pain a little bit - and making up for the time invested in collecting materials and data for engineering - I would like to suggest that selling engineered stuff should be rewarded with a nice monetary plus especially for G5 items.

What do you think?

You can store engineered modules on ships and store the ships. It's become easier now that we can name them. Just use a name that will help you remember what you stored on them.

As long as it was implemented correctly so it didn't turn into making weapons for real world cash I don't think anyone would have many issues, currently I use several Cobra's to store smaller weapons, shield boosters etc leaving space for the higher class items although I heard some commanders use Anacondas as storage ships!

I'm still fairly new to engineering so haven't reached the storage limit yet. Will most likely throw a bunch of stuff away. I rolled a quite a few G5 weapons without FX when I first started and they are all sitting in storage so will be first to go.

I'm not too bothered about it. Mind you I haven't pulled the trigger yet lol.

Ha, you will. I have G5 weapons of all sorts stuffed in several storage ships now, along with heatsinks, SB, chaff etc...

I do think you should get a decent profit on selling engineered stuff though, it could be a profession.

Open up the Black Markets perhaps, but purchaseable only by players allied with the factions in systems with black markets.
Could maybe sell to black market for set price and any profit over set price made by black market goes to player who sold item.
Prices would probably be extortionate for buying but plenty of players would. First come first served obviously.

I would have thought engineered modules should have a higher selling price than a standard unit.

I used to fit smaller shields to my ships and then engineer them so they were similar to a standard bigger shield.
Recently I've changed my mind about this and found myself with a heap of spare G4/5 engineered shields and I can't help thinking I should get more than the base-price for them when I sell them.

Selling stuff to other players, however, is a different story.
That'd have to be implemented VERY carefully before I'd support it.

Not sure i would like to see modded modules sold on black markets. This could lead to players selling them, out of game, for real cash and then telling the player when and where to go to pick up this modded module. I would like to see a black market for Materials and Data. Then players could buy the bits needed to upgrade their own modules. This would also create more game play for miners and smugglers as these items would be illegal to sell on the open market. Mining has little reward for time spent so giving them materials to sell on the black market, for very high prices, would tempt people into mining.. Just a thought.
