Selling Exploration Data and support a PMF - How to do it right?

We want to support our new small PMF by selling our exploration data at the right spot.

Our faction doesn't have the control in our home system yet.

1. Is there a way to support it by selling exploration data and if yes, how?
1a. Our faction is in control of a smaller outpost and a small planet base. If we sell the data over there, would that help our faction?
2. Any other tips how to gain influence fast and get control in our home system?

Thanks!

Thanks! Any other tips for an efficient way to increase influence for your own faction? We'd like to take control in our home system, but aren't that many Cmdrs.

Don't sell in one time. A bucket value for exploration data is around 8-10M for a moderate populated system (10M). Anything above is wasted.

Also, keep in mind that 3.3's BGS is awfully bugged.

Mix of Missions, Passengers, Exp Data (if you own a station), and Bounties (when you have somewhere to control).

If your rivals have an Outpost with a Black Market, smuggling in a bit of illegal goods will give them a good kick in the wobblies.

Dont worry about limited Cmdrs, as long as the natural traffic is low.

It is incorrect and this 8-10 million cr has been an urban legend for a long time, both pre and post 3.3. Absolutely sell them one by one. Systems having a value at least > 75 000 cr.

OP : look in Jane BGS help thread that are sticked. You will have nice information on it.

I would have said murders (;-)) but it is bugged AF. So yeah, BM and standard missions.

It's fixed since 3.1

Ensure that faction effects are the same from selling exploration data for pages as well as individual star systems, and balance those faction effects to have roughly the same galactic impact as before this release

Look at those 8M buckets on october 10th:

I'm quite new to dealing with the BGS. That means selling the systems one by one at the same station has a larger effect than selling the whole page? Seems a bit strange

In 3.2 selling a page of 50 had the same effect approximately as selling 10 separately after the patch that fixed the situation where a page of 50 had the same effect as a single system. In 3.3 its too early to say for sure, but it seems that there is a definite increase in the value of the systems needed to qualify. Testing that is something that will take time in the current state of BGS insanity

Well we tested now after 3.3.01 and in no system we got an increase in INFluence. We did sell them 1 by 1 and by full pages. No increase we even dropped!

Ok, that's strange. I sold my exploration data and soon after the influence for the faction increased from ~2 to 9%. Haven't compared the two methods though. Sold the systems above 75k one by one and the rest bay page. Sold total data worth ~16mln
