Selling exploration data - Cooper Research Centre

Don't know if any experts in this region, but I was roaming around the various sectors around Pleiades, and the urge came to me that I should go see the alien ships.

Well since I've spent a few days away from any civilisation, I decided to go sell my exploration data before taking the risk!

Look up the nearest space station, and what a miracle I find an Alliance one nearby, and I'm trying to become friendly to them - the Cooper Research Centre (HIP 19072). Yay!

Anyway, I jump in, find I should scan all the lovely planets there as well, and dock.

Now even though the host at the port tells me I can sell exploration data there, I have no option to do so.

Is this supposed to be the case? Do I need to have enough faction to sell it? Or is this just a legacy that I should be able to do, but they've decided to stop accepting?

I rather assumed it was possible to sell exploration data at any station, perhaps it's not the case? Or just a bug! Very confusing

Nope, there are 4 services offered:

- market and commodities
- missions
- passenger lounge
- contacts (gets you the usual fines and bounties option, and the combat bond option)

No cartographics option at all.

You can do refuel and repair, no outfitting obviously, but that's it.

I will have to check later tonight, I parked up for now while I go do my online duties in another universe :D

So there must be a set of special outposts in that region, because I travelled a few nearby and they did not have a cartographics option either.

Eventually I settled on HIP 17692 and landed at Blackmount Habitation, and was finally able to sell. A good 50m or so of data - wow I was out longer than I thought! :)

Anyway, seems like these more specialised stations / platforms / bases do not always accept cartographic data. Something new to learn!
