Selling Exploration Data if I change ships

When I hopefully get safely back in a couple of weeks I hope to have around 100M Cr of data to sell. I shall return to my 'home' station but would like to 'spread it around' when selling to try to get decent relationships with a few more stations. If I change to my kickass Vulture so I am happier cruising to places I do not know, will my data remain with me or must I use my Asp?

Not sure if it would transfer, but I think it may, similar to how bounties and other items transfer. If it were me though, I would not take a chance with that much at stake. I would sell it at the first base I safely reach.

Your data stays with you no matter which ship you're in. By extension, if you die in another ship than the one you collected the data in, you will lose it as well, so be careful - but yes, you can switch. Source: personal experience :)

Apologies for dredging this old chestnut up, but is this still the case post-2.3?

I did a few passenger missions to try out the new Dolphin "PETUNIA", honking the ADS happily over a hundred LY or so, then bounced back to my No. 1 Python "DAWNRIDER" to get me to the next station (another 40LY or so in the other direction), where I purchased a new Python (No. 2 Python "BRUNEL") to kit out for mining.

Then I remembered I'd not sold my scan data, so I logged in to Universal Cartographics and 'poof!': I had no data to sell!

A glitch? Bad luck? Not far enough away? Worth a bug report?

Not too fussed as it's probably only CR150k, but it's the principle!

I have been messing around a lot changing ships since 2.3 and the data seemed to pass over ok.
Are you meaning data collected before 2.3 being lost after?
