I am experiencing a frustrating issue with getting rid of animals, and could do with some help. It could be "working as intended" but if so, the intention is pretty bloody frustrating.
I get that when we buy an animal for money we can't then free them for leaf points.
But I have a number of animals that can't be freed for leaf points, can't be sold for money, and can't be got rid of at all. The only thing I can do is leave them to die somewhere, and that's really not what I want to do.
For instance, in the abandoned mine campaign level, one of my starter snow leopards is now too old to breed, and I have younger snow leopards who can take her place, but all I can do is leave her in the trade centre to rot, where she is permanently frozen in time. In a couple of old builds there were "transfer to other zoo" buttons or similar. They seem to have gone.
Likewise, I have a tapir I can't get rid of. Wasn't a starter animal. Really strange.
