Selling pre-modded suits for others to buy.

Is it possible to buy a pre-modded suit, lets say a G3 Maverick with a mod of some kind, then sell it back to Pioneer Supplies so that another player can buy it, if it isn't ultimately required by the original purchaser? Does such a suit go back into stock for others to buy or into oblivion? I tested it with a standard suit but the number of suits available just remained at three. I didn't want to risk it with a modded suit of my own.

Greetings,

Well, a player can purchase any of the new Odyssey materials at a fleet carrier...if the owner or a group is willing to do the work to gather them. Good luck finding power regulators for sale although sometimes they show up.

As for pre-modded suits the limiting price on a fleet carrier would be prohibitive. Say you purchase a pre-modded suit for 9 million credits. When selling it the max cost would probably be based on a stock G1 suit so say 2 million credits. A player would have to be a philanthropist or helping their new squadron members to upgrade when working together. So even with 'buy your way to the top' conversations the math wouldn't work.

Regards

That's what I like so very much about this game: No matter how much money you have, you can not buy your way to the top. You don't do the work, you don't get diddly.
I find it the definition of abject stupidity that I can not purchase materials. That, I can not defend. The rest of it, yeah, I'm OK with it.

Can you purchase uranium?

No.

Can you buy gold, aluminum, silver, etc.?

Yes.

It's modeled on real life. There are some things you simply can't buy.

Manufactured materials you can't buy because they're specially manufactured. You can't go out and buy the parts to build an F22 Raptor. You can buy all the elements and circuits to build it if you can figure out how to engineer it all yourself, but not the actual parts.

Again, the game is modeled on real life.

I absolutely can. Perhaps not legally and perhaps not cheaply, but yes, I absolutely can.

Aside from happiness, name one.

It's funny that you specifically mention the F22. A good personal friend of mine worked on its development and again, you are wrong. Given a lack of morality and plenty of access to cash, things can be bought. You might perceive that there are barriers to that - and you are correct in that there are - but everything has a price for someone.

All that aside...the fact that I can't purchase phosphorus but can freely hoover it up is just silly. I get it, FDev wants you to go through the game loops, fine. But after a certain point, we should be able to skip the line. It's just forced engagement to boost time in game numbers for share holders , pure and simple.

I suspect that is the overhaul for next year...purchasable materials...

Hilarious!

Also unfunded, not true aka speculation. Seems even back in the Frontier II era Braben had share holders... Apart from the fact share holders have nothing to say in the company. You need to be a stake holder.. Like Braden is.
