Selling rare goods

I was wondering if anyone had any experience relating to the sale of rare "yellow" goods? I noticed that there was some Lavian Brandy available at Lave, and, being partial to a bit of good brandy, made a purchase. 1t of the cargo netted me a profit of 17 cr in an adjacent system. Not a very profitable route!

What would be involved in getting a decent profit from this type of cargo? If I took 100t of it across 100 LY, would I see increased profits? Does it just depend on range, or other factors as well?

Eranin Pearl Whiskey costs about 1500 at Eranin, 1550 at Asselus, bu the galaxy average is 9000. I cant be bothered to haul 1t to some far systems... I believe there should be an option to "stash" some cargo, so you can buy 1t of a rare cargo, fill a Type 6 over a time and then haul it where the price exceeds 1k... But i dont think we will get it untill we get some sort of "player housing"...

I brought 80 tonnes of lave brandy on the 1st day and flew to Gendini about 300ly-ish and made 20,650 a ton ended up making around 1.4 million profit. Unfortuantly the market has 1 brandy now so that route isn't a good money maker anymore but im sure there are plenty of undiscovered rare goods out there with a decent supply..... Until i find them :D you just have to go a long way to get decent prices but with a long range ship its not that much of a problem for a huge profit.......

can your spare ship be used to hold stock? obviously risky selling to a station and hoping to re-buy, but might work.
