Think Andromeda tv series. The ship has an internal sensor and she can also deploy sensor drones to increase the scanner radius. I think this will be a cool thing to add when bounty hunting. Say 15km radius if you have them. Also they can scan the ships for you so you can see if they are worth chasing down.
