Sensors have some handy engineering options, but one is missing that I'd like to see.
Fast Passive Scan.
When you do a passive scan on ships, it can take some time, about 10 seconds, and with a fast scan KWS, you can often do that before the passive scan is even done. Lol
So my suggestion is simply have a Fast Passive Scan modification that can reduce the time to 2~s at grade 5.
This also effects the scanning speed of nav beacons, USSs (from the cockpit, not FSS) and other passive bits and bobs.
Downsides can be scan angle, power, and/or mass.
