sensors.....

Ok so I've been bangin around With a diamond a scout, kitted for combat ofcourse. I was using D sensors. Well... I was at an outpost and they had A sensors, the extra mass and power wasn't a lot so I figured lets try it! for some reason... I instantly noticed a ... Massive increase in dmg from my multi canons, and I even felt like my fixed pulse beams were knocking out shields faster. I even took it up against a Conda and had literally no issues, before making the sensor purchase... The dmg I would have done to a Conda would have been laughable.

I changed nothing else..... And I know there's confirmation from devs that sensors do not help gimmbled tracking... So... Am I missing something here? Am I freakin going insane? Like I said, the dmg output on my weapons seemed astronomically increased.
 
Think it's just a placebo to be honest, went from D's to A's on my python and while the added distance is very handy at Res sites for finding larger prey they certainly don't make the tracking on the gimbles any better.

Okkey boyz! Who's giving me an A sensor RIGHT NOW???!!!
 
Sensor range is increased, so you will hit more at great distances from target. In the description of Sensors in Outfitting it states "targeting" as one of the things effected, so better sensors *should* increase hits, but not damage to target. (same thing though- hits=damage.)
 
Better sensors mean better range and target tracking.

i have noticed that NPCs have the best sensors; as they all can still track you over 5km.

this makes sense than.. cuzz the condas power plant went down like a ton of bricks. and fast. lol
 
Been playing for so long that out of pure habit I always just slap in D rated life support and sensors and never think about it ever again - thanks for the food for thought, I'll be checking this out whenever I next get in!
