Sent to prison during a cargo mission

Hello all,
almost a newbie so be patient :)
I was delivering a cargo on a mission when I messed up with the pad and fired while landing.
My ship was fired against and destroyed, I was sent to prison in another system and lost the cargo coming from the mission assignment.

I paid fines and rebought ship, but now I am unable to complete mission. I have no cargo, the items cannot be taken again from the mission starting location and the destination won't accept same kind of items bought on the market (reactive armour), so I cannot complete the mission.

How can I get my mission cargo back and complete the mission?

You can't.

You have to either dismiss the mission from your transactions tab or wait for it to time-out and so fail. Pay any fine for mission failure.

Welcome to ED!

The galaxy can be pretty harsh, but this particular thing they do is annoying, because only those particular mission cargo are good enough for your mission recipient.
You can't just go out and buy some more, that'd be too simple. :p

I wouldn't worry too much, plenty of missions available, just try to avoid shooting the station. :p

I can help to have either a "blank" firegroup, with just your discovery scanner in, or keep your ship in analysis mode, then you won't accidentally open fire in any sort of dangerous manner.

will follow your suggestions!
It was a (funny and) deadly combo:
New key bindings for PS4 found on the web plus my controller falling from my hands!!!
The vertical thrust combo R2+pad down killed me! :)
With the blank firegroup I would have been safe!

That's what we pay on PS4 because of "them" not letting us use a keyboard on SOLO mode
(I understand can give advantage in PvsP battles....but in solo it should be allowed!)

Also : post questions into Newcomers, this forum is for suggestions for the game, not suggestions how to get out of situations for the player. Though many others don't seem to understand this either :)

Pardon @Factabulous, will stick to the advice.

The implicit suggestion to Mr Braben is to allow the usage of keyboards on Solo play on PS4. What's the reason for not allowing that?

LOL!!! I swear I used to be a good guy before I changed keybinding and my controller fell!

I did not shoot on purpose Officer! Ehm....i was cleaning my lasers when....
