Engineers Separate Forum For Engineers - Isn't This Part Of Horizon's?

Not sure if this was explained but what's the rationale behind making this second release in the Horizon's season a separate forum group? Does this mean we'll see separate forums for every quarterly season release? Should the other Horizon's forum be renamed Planetary Landings? Not a big deal of course but the lack of any consistency from FDev for simple things like this is... well, expected I guess!

No, this forum is for only discussing the things in the Engineers update.

So before you post, you'll need to find out if you're talking about something from the Base Game (go post in General Dicussion), Horizons (go post in Horizons) or Engineers (post here).

If you want to talk about driving your SRV around an Engineer's base, I guess you're **** out of luck.

Yes, I was thinking the same - it kind of dilutes the forum a tad.

Whilst I can see that it's sensible in the short run, it probably needs a tidy-up/merge once all the excitement has calmed down.

I guess I should have made my disdain and sarcasm more evident. It's a stupid forum arrangement that doesn't work, as attested to the state of General Discussion.

We had separate forum sections for Arena and CQC for a while too, then they got merged I believe.

Agree it's a bit much. Should just be folded into the Horizons forum whilst maintaining the Engineers title. Makes sense to me that the season pass sub-forum would adopt each new phase name like Engineers or Guardians upon each release.

It's a clearly sign posted sub forum for a topic that, as expected, has exploded.

It it didn't exist, both dangerous discussions and horizons forums would be swamped with engineer related questions, grumbles and opinions, and even some advice and praise. All posted that belong in those forums would quickly be forgotten in the second page and beyond.

Frontier should OF COURSE merge the Engineers thread with the Horizons Thread.
As OP points out; they are one and the same.

The people in Frontier are very intelligent people, so I reckon they will merge very soon. [yesnod]
And they have done an amazing job with Elite!
