Horizons Separate game for Horizons?

I'm confused. I now have two titles sitting in my Steam library: Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous Horizons.

Are they separate games? >_>

Yeah they are. Once I confirmed that Horizons was working and my ship was were it should be I deleted the local content for Elite Dangerous and removed it from my favourites.

Yes, but as an owner of Horizons it includes all everything in the vanilla Elite Dangerous so you won't need to play it.
As per the previous post you can delete the Elite Dangerous game if you wish.

Their logic for still showing you both in the launcher is that you might want to play ED on a computer that doesn't have the specs to play Horizons. Your game save is still shared between both games so you can play Horizons on your main PC and then play ED on a lesser PC should you want to.

That raises an interesting scenario. What do you think will happen if you log off and your ship is parked on a planet and then you start the game using ED and not Horizons?
