Separate Graphics Setting For Stations and Ports

While I'm 110% sure my GPU isn't cut out for ED anymore, it can still play it rather well.

Most of my settings are medium/high, which isn't bad for a mid range card from 2011. :D

My only gripe is when docked in a large station or planetary port, my GPU temps shoot right up, and cause its fan to go in to hamster mode, and gradually ramp up the RPM until it drowns out my TV. Lol
My FPS also drops from 60~fps to anything between 20-30~ fps.
However, if I drop the settings so stations don't try to melt my GPU, everything else looks pants.

From some other posts I've read, new and even higher end cards do this.

So my request, is to have a separate detail setting for station interiors, so I can adjust accordingly.

Thank you!

I find my fps drop when there is lots of network traffic. I'm not surprised to be honest, my machine is 9 years old. I get 60 mostly, and 47 when lots of real player in same instance.
I have got a mid rang gpu AMD r9 380

I had a heat problem originally, it was fluff on CPU cooler basically. Removed fluff I ran 20degrees lower

What are you running, when do you get the drop

I run an AMD FX 8320 CPU at stock speeds, which runs pretty cool now. (I did have major overheating issues, but I fixed it).
The CPU usage doesn't increase that much near a dock, and its fan, even at maximum RPM isn't loud.

And an AMD HD 6870 1GB.
It's usually nearly silent while in space, but as soon as I go near a dock, it gradually heats up, causing the fans to spin faster. It's an old card, but it's relatively clear of dust, and has excellent airflow from some fans in the front of the case.

No other game I own actually gets my GPU as hot as ED does in a dock. Lol
Not even NMS, or Arma 3. Lol

But like I said, as soon as I leave the dock, the fans spin down and go quiet.
Even on the lowest settings, my GPU fan still gets quite noisy.
