Orbit Lines are sometimes a nice visual thing to have.
Proximity Lines are a useful thing to have, sometimes essential to the integrity of the ship.
There is a distinct difference between those two. Why do they share a common setting and keybind? Please separate the "Show/hide proximity lines setting" from the "Show/hide orbit lines setting" as there are many times orbit lines are annoying but proximity lines are essential to see if one (mainly explorers) wishes to prevent his ship from obtaining minor damage every time he tries to fuel-scoop efficiently (so, coming very close to the sun).
As for the keybind, if you don't wish to add a separate one, there could be an extra setting to bind the existing one to orbit lines, proximity lines or both. Personally, i'd prefer the ability to have two different keybinds.
