Newcomer / Intro Serious game ruining problem, ship trajectory

Most of the time when trying to enter hyperspace is please align with ship trajectory, and whilst I have flight assist on and my trajectory is perfect, it will never let me hyper jump. This is very annoying, and sometimes I just have to self destruct, lose my cargo and because of this I cannot compelete or do anything. Please help me solve this

Hey,

I get this too sometimes, and it is always because Im still slightly applying thrust to the left or the right. So, even if you are perfectly aligned with your ships trajectory (blue cross), if you are applying lateral thrust, it will still say "please align with ship trajectory" and not let you jump. It was slightly confusing to me as well.

Cheers,

I mean that my blue dot is is in the circle to start hyperjump

Thanks, I'll try this out and make sure I'm not doing that

I have the symbol to where Im jumping roughly in the middle of my front screen, hit jump, fsd charges and off I go.
Its never bang on the center and I have no problems, I might occasionally get told to align more but thats like 1 in a hundred or so times.

The blue dot doe indeed indicate the direction you need to be facing, but is it a solid blue dot or a hollow blue dot? The hollow blue dot indicates it is behind you, if you have a hollow blue dot in the centre of the compass then you need to do a 180 degree turn.

Is the OP using the alignment indicator to aim for FSD target?
Use that to find where it is but then use the onscreen visual cue to aim properly

Deadly, But very fluffy...

You are applying full throttle when aligned to? otherwise you will just sit there

I've only played for four hours, I don't really understand what that means, all I know is that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and I have to self destruct, but if the alligment indicator and fsd target is what I think it is then the indicator is in the middle and not hollow and my fsd target is in front of me

Yep, full throttle

I would suggest going onto youtube and watching the "getting started Elite Dangerous videos" done by a guy called Adoredtv
Or if not him then there are plenty of others
I had a week to wait for new parts coming before I could buy and play ED, I spent that week watching all his videos and I learned a lot from them and others done by s few other people.

I just attempted to hyperjump again but same message coming up.

I have watched some but I'll check him out, thanks

Heres a link to number 1
Seriously give them a watch, I learned so much from them, even after I'd started playing I found out stuff I didnt know

the other option if you still can't figure it out is to take your own video so we can see what you are(n't) doing. I've never had what you described so really not sure what could be wrong. Have you tried going into supercruise first? Also, if you're too close to a star or planet you'll need to align with the 'escape vector' (blue reticle) which is directly away from the celestial body to get you into supercruise first

Another thing that can happen is if you have toggled reverse thrust then you won't be able to jump but it will tell you to apply full throttle not align with target

Thanks guys, it's working now, just managed to jump and burnt in a sun. I'll watch some of those videos to learn more about the game. Bye!
