Seriously - Can I get a refund?

Dear Frontier,

I think Odyssey will be a great addition to elite, but now the game has gone live it is very apparent that it has killed the game cripples my PC and the cost required to upgrade my PC is just too much. I am a light infrequent gamer and a high spec PC is not where I need to be.

I have no desire to throw money at my PC in order to resolve, nor do I wish to continue betta testing this game. Its just not fun at 38 fps at minimum settings or sub 30 at medium.
When I purchased this game there was an expectancy that the game would not be detrimental to game performance, but I reality it has had a crippling effect.

I could not play the alpha and I cannot play the betta. Good luck to those with great PC specification that can enjoy this game :)

What is the procedure for refunds?

You can log a ticket with support for a refund i think, depends on through which shop (Steam, Epic, Frontier) you bought it.

If you bought on Steam, you better not waited for the login servers to get online on release date. This disqualified me for a steam refund. 35€ for a broken mess I can't properly play even if I'd be ok with all the unfinished things and questionable design.

Hi McN41R,

Or maybe wait a few weeks. As the Buur Pit explained in a video the fps trouble is very divers on different PC specifications.
I run everything the same as in Horizon. Only not on ultra, but High. I have an old system with a Nvidia GTX 970 with 4Gb ram and a i7 5800 and 32 Gb internal memory. I get a normal 60 fps where I got a 60fps in Ultra in Horizon (2560X1440)
Looking at the difference between Horizon and Odyssey it feels normal my system should do a small step back.
Knowing it is not depending on the hardware it must be a software problem and thus repairable for a lot of the gamers in time.

Sure, we offer two methods of reimbursement:

1. Refunded value of ARX
2. 40 Opinion Polls

(Just joking by the way, I'm sure your reasons are valid)

I play Elite cause I like it, I bought Odyssey cause I think its a good addition.

Sadly, When I buy a game (or any other item) I expect it to work, I expect it to be fully tested, I expect it to be fit for purpose and I expect it not to break down continuously. I don't really care whether it runs on one PC or another (as mentioned in post above). Its Frontiers job to make sure that these things work when released, no excuses!

Unfortunately, Frontier are not alone in this, nearly all games are releases prematurely, not working correctly and a usually at the premium cost. By the time it works properly its usually on sale (probably due to bad feed back/press on the above).

I personally think we are mugs for continuously accepting this cycle of poorly developed games, release at premium cost. I like to to think that going forward I wont be investing in new games and I will be breaking this cycle.
