Well, you design a game, you take 5 minutes to to think about the effects your plans will have, you ask internal QA about it. They tell you: mat storage (if not, they are quite redundant). You hear the massive yell in beta. Your response? Vague promise in one stream out of hundreds that it will, eventually(as in not soon, meaning not in 2.2), come.
Interim solution is easy (remove commodity mats, increase mat storage to Inf), but for some reason.. no, FDev doesn't do obvious. FDev does convoluted confusion, always surprising us, challenging us, by coming up with ways to screw unscrewable.
