Hardware & Technical Seriously Folks, will this help humanity...

Well it's like this see. Ive been reading up on them pci ssd thingamigiggy's, and considering that not too long ago that there ssd sata 3 thingamigiggy's were quite expensive not too long ago ya'll, then i know that these pci jobbie's wont drop much more at present considering the complexitiy's and all, im thinking mighty hard about buying one...
Well what do you think about this thought which has come about with some great deep thinking, thinking that thing's will be speeding up around here...
Is it true what i read about the other day that all the promises by intel and those motherboard muter:{?<{~ dudes have been having us on regardin this so called sata 3 spec ya'll...
Can you gimmi your good judgement on this topic please...
Oh, and basically, are these fast little rumblers worth the price ?:)

SSD drives have completely revolutionised my PC's at home.

My wife's laptop was a fairly good mid-range but it did suffer from the rubbish slow spin speed of the laptop drive and I bought a 80gig SSD drive used the transfer tool and hey presto a massive jump in raw performance due to disc access times.

I run a 480 and 240 gig drive on this PC with a tri-boot windows and dual boot linux and windows 7 takes about 7 seconds to launch. linux about the same and again a massive jump in read/write speeds.

I see a peak speed of about 500 Megabytes/sec and sustained at about 120 Megabytes/sec.

now that prices are tumbling (240-250 gigabyte is around £100 at the moment) I would say go for it even if your motherboard is only Sata2 as it will be running as fast as it can go.

I stopped reading after the first line when I realised I had no idea what he was talking about. Was it English?

Thanks Doctor, after reading up on the passmark website on the top pc build's, then these mutha's really seem to rock...i mean ssd=fast ya'll, but is it really true that these babies just spit the milk out and go on a rampage ?

Yeah i was diagnosed with a personality disorder borderline thing jobby in jail ya'll, but the thing is see, even people like me get to know you people cos otherwise things get a bit hairy ya'll...:)

Well, there are some english words in there but they're jumbled up with gibberish. It appears to be a call for help choosing hardware, but written by someone who's (a) terminally confused, or (b) trying so hard to be cool that they end up looking like a complete..... something else.
I'm normally quick to help with hardware, but in this instance I'll pass.

Putting it into prospective. Battlefield 4 in 1080 full hd everything maxed out in ultra > load time 7 seconds on my sata 3 ssd.

I wouldn't advice for SSD flash cards (PCIe). They are expensive and a decent SATA3 Raid 0(+1) is cheaper( and saver). Most Mainboards come with a controller that supports that. If you really need the bandwidth, (moving TB around, i.e. 1GB/s and more) i'd go for a SAS Raid solution. If you only ask SSD or not: Hell, definitively SSD!

Actually when you read between the line's it put's people in the know regarding the rip off which is sata 3. Read a bit more, study a bit more on the technical aspect's regarding normal ssd vs pci ssd and then come back to me...

Thanks Darojax, i was trying to get people's interest up in this subject. It seem's like the pci ssd's can be a good viable option in lot's of way's.
Not everyone can afford them now, but the increase in speed on all front's seem terrific.
i got interested in this subject by reading an online review regarding the merits of ssd v pci ssd and the flaw's regarding the former...
Just interested in starting a discussion and helping us all, thanks.

I've got a 240mb SSD (USB 3.0) as my primary windows drive. Not had any problems with it yet, but longevity wise, SSDs will eventually die, and probably quite instantly with little warning. Not sure how long their MTBF is, but its much shorter than hard disks. That said, they are really fast, especially when booting the operating system.

If it wasn't for the other gibberish threads, I might actually believe the OP is human in this one. :D

Hey get off your high horses ya'll, do you judge an alien just by the way he looks or speaks to you...Think first, shoot only when your life is in danger...mind you, if you deserve to be shot, pray to the spacesim god in the sky ya'll...

Not a dig but having attempted to read all your posts in this thread I've come to the conclusion you might need to improve your communication skills.;) My head hurts.
