CCP and Eve did the same thing. Took all the money PC gamers put into the game and released a console only experience with it. This is upsetting on so many levels.
How could you seriously send me an email to my computer and say "yea we're giving this content that you funded development of to console kiddies first" without thinking about it at all?
I seriously hope this does not become a trend but I am eagerly anticipating what changes you make to the game to cater to console's lack of hardware and control fidelity. Will you have to remove certain abilities and weapons from the game because the Xbone's controller doesn't have enough buttons?
Time will tell. You're going down a dark path with this.
- CQC is not a "console only experience". It'll be on your hard drive in a few months.
- Nobody took your money to make it. Frontier is a multi title studio. They make more than one game. This might be how they have stayed in business for 21 years.
- Console versions of ED were mentioned in the initial Kickstarter and frequently since.
- The Xbox version (of Elite Dangerous) is already available to download. It's pretty much the same as the PC version. Frontier have added an overlay for the controller but they haven't changed the PC version. You won't suddenly find the PC version doesn't support Oculus rift, HOTAS controllers, Head motion tracking, 4K montors and many other peripherals so called "PC specific" titles don't tend to support.
- Finally don't you find the word "fidelity" is being overused right now? It's like saying "detail" but using way too many syllables.
