News Server down time and Elite: Dangerous for Mac

Hi everyone,

The Galaxy servers will be going down at 10am for up-to one hour. This will allow us to bring the Mac players over to the live servers. Thanks for your patience!

After that, Elite: Dangerous for Mac will be available to download on our store, and purchase through Steam.

Thanks everyone.

See you in space CMDRs.

Edit: change-log below:

· Further optimisations
· Various improvements to OpenGL shadow generation
· Fix for how we handle unsupported languages
· Better PlayStation 3 controller support

Will you be launching it on the App Store too? If not now, will you do it later? Let's face it...that's where most Mac users will actually see it.

Most of us have been here since the beginning. We've just been using the Windows partition on our hard drive until now. I'm just happy to not have to reboot every time I want to play.

I've been playing for awhile now on my under-powered Windows machine and been looking forward to hooking my Thrustmaster to my more powerful Mac. So, I'll be logging into a native Mac client with a few thousand light-years under my belt. :)

Will the Mac version be available under STEAM too?
Currently Elite is available on MAC download, but only download an empty directory.

Not a big deal, but on Account page under Frontier store, I can't see any Windows launcher. That's why I'm a bit concerned with having a steam version of the launcher by any other means.
