Purely speculation, but my guess is to add the new ruins to the game. Galnet article was published earlier, so?
Now being told they are coming down again for another re-start !
I'm in game now. how long before restart, got no message stating that.

I think they are updating the ships planetary landing abilities so that you dont have to run about for 5 mins seeking a level spot on MANY level spots to match today's motorhome tech P...you know, the ability to
touch down and the legs telescopically extend to create balance. A welcome item for year 3000
A new POI scanner too...the kind that you can fire and see those blue circles w/o having to reach 2k all the time

Naaa, you cannot fog us off with "routine"!
It just sounds suspicious with the Galnet article, and possibly an Ed stream tonight. Alas we all know "Soon" is a code, and so is "I cannot talk about that" (I think FD user the latter to mean soon by the way).
I think routine is a new puzzle to solve, a sort of forum puzzle.
