I had to kill the process.

The advanced discovery scanner also works in SC, tell me one reason why the wake scanner should not.
Of course (and at least in case of the ADS) you need to switch to it, no matter of it's detract/retract state.

UPDATE:
'Systems visited' has been updated now, but not the level 2 and 3 scans.
So the system (server?) has a delay with providing these statistics?

ADS isn't mounted on a utility mount, it is an internal module. Same with interdictor, it isn't external. Weapons, shield boosters, chaff, and WS are externally mounted.

Not sure what you mean be "no hickups". When I launch the game Im asked to update the launcher. Only problem is ... I have no idea where to do that. There's a stupid message telling me the "SEE NEWS".... but news contains nothing of relevance.

The old launcher downloaded the update automatically for me. The download was put in my download folder.

Harsh? Maybe, but what about those players/groups who work on expanding a minor faction into a power? Imagine you & your friends worked on a system for several weeks, managed to expand into some surrounding systems, and then "your" system hangs up in an endless active state not changing for weeks - bad luck, try again somewhere else just to experience the same thing again? Remember that line: "A huge galaxy responding directly to player action!"? Well, not exactly...

The pirates that were shot when my friends received wanted status were wanted mission targets in a non-anarchy system.

Wanted status for carrying out assassinations for the ruling faction in their home system:
One of the replies to my OP basically says that Osama Bin Laden could have put Barrack Obama on America's most wanted list, and then lean back watching U.S. special forces shoot their president, for which they'd receive a death sentence in return. In other words some outsider manipulates the mission board to post a fake assassination mission in the name of the ruling faction and lateron watches the mission authority attacking the assassin. Thats a lot of speculative thinking without any hard data to back it up - fantasy - I'd rather assume that the factions in a system have some sort of control in place to make sure that nobody who is not authorized can place missions on the board in their name. Otherwise NO missions can be carried out by any of us being sure we support the faction we actually want to support - total chaos.

Wings are a feature of this game since 1.1. They still dont work as supposed to. Randomly disappearing wingmembers, invisible enemies shooting at a wingmember, difficulties getting into the same instance as your wing - these things happen too often to allow for saying "wings work to a limited extend". I'd say wings work as supposed to in about 20% of cases, not enough, should be at least >50%.

The things Im reporting here may not concern the casual player, but they have a very negative, de-motivating influence on players and clans who set out to achieve a set goal. It's those groups who contribute most to report & weed out bugs from the game, and it's the same groups who suffer the most if basic features in the game do not work as supposed to.
I think it's alright to say that we all WANT to play this game, we all WANT to do our best to help making it an even better game - we love it! But it's extremely frustrating & discouraging to find out that, while it says "bug XYZ has been fixed" in the changelog, nothing has been fixed. The old bugs persist and even have a very strong tendency to get worse every time new content is added. ED is in danger of turning into a patchwork of half-functional features attractive for none but the most casual players. I for one believe that is not what FD had in mind when they started this project, and I am willing to help where I can. A list of features and how they're supposed to work would help helping, "it's not a bug, it's a feature!" certainly doesnt.

Any Chance of fixing the Nvidia graphics lock up with sound on forcing a hard restart problem?

You say this as though it is a common problem everyone knows about, you might have more luck submitting a support ticket . As an nvidia user my game does not lock up, nor are there any problem with the sound, all drivers up to date etc.

Frontier are by far the least communicative and most evasive online games company I've experienced. Good luck with your tickets and posts. Generally speaking, unless you can't get into the game, it'll take a looooooong time to get anything out of them and probably cause you an enormous amount of frustration along the way.

I love ED. I can't stand Frontier's "support" (or lack thereof) or their inability to communicate with their player base in any meaningful way. Lots of pointless, contentless rhetoric and almost nothing useful communicated ever. Suck a shame, with some more modern communication policies and significantly better support processes they'd actually be very good.

Mind you, they have time to grow into it. They might improve at some point. I wouldn't put money on it but they might.

This is not a feeble attempt to mock someone, it's an honest question

Is "suck a shame" a new thang that the KidZ are saying to say that something sucks and it's a real shame?

In fact the way Frontier responds to their player's problems is way above average. Yes, they may not care to comment on every single bug report, but they focus on fixing the bugs instead, cranking out one patch after another. While I agree that not everything is being fixed shortly, they do a lot in terms of bug fixing.

Compare that to, say, Ubisoft. They will sell the game in alpha status, release 3 patches to take it to beta level, and then end patch support for good. One or two years later, they will shut down the game servers so you can no longer play the game online.

I love this game but it isn't playable any more. Every ten minutes crashes the game and bring me back to the Xbox dashboard. Sadly I'm willing to delete the game when is it not playable shortly. And I think about to get my money back. I didn't paid for looking at my dashboard. :(

Would also like to see this resolved. I am using a GTX 970 and getting total system lock ups from time to time.

To those that suggest tinkering with hardware settings, like underclocking etc, I am not going to change my system settings for something that is wrong within the game. Fix the game. Thanks.

I agree maybe it is connected to the GTX970? As the guy above said he has a Nvidia card and no problems.

Had it once also with a GTX TITAN, but I updated nvidia drivers recently and it's kinda hot in my room for the moment, not sure if it is frontier's fault, since hard resets like this IMO point more to a driver/hardware issue.
