servers - any update from FD

Servers have been poor for a few weeks now and seem to be getting worse not better - at least for me. Today is terrible: mission slow, stuck in hyperspace transition etc. Any official word from FD. Not seen anything.
 
I saw someone from FD support team yesterday say that they're upping the server capacity Soon™ because of the new player influx after Gamescom.

Don't remember if that post was in Bug Report or Support forum or some rageguit thread.

It's a shame that even with AWS you don't get server scaling happening in a smooth way. In a recent interview with one of Amazon's Lumberjack team, even if you're using their own engine you still have to have at least some element of manual scaling.

Edit: a shame in that that aught to be one of the benefits of a cloud based solution. I've no idea how AWS compare in this regard vs other providers.

Whats annoying is this seems to happen every time the game becomes a little bit more popular than usual. This has occurred several times in the past. We should be over this by now.

Not sure if it's due to popularity and only FDev would have the facts there. But it certainly does seem to be more related to patches / releases. Timing has lined up many times with people experiencing slow downs and issues right after a major release for either xBox or PC.
