Set Trigger duration time

Hello,

I would like to see that we can set a duration time for a trigger.

for instance i made a door inside a dark ride >>>> train is passing slowly. >>>> > Door opens train is not even 25% trough the door>>>>> Door closes.

If we could have a set duration timer we could time it yourself when the door is going to close. >>>>>>>>> Duration time: X.X Seconds

Tnx

You can change the duration, but not from within the trigger menu itself. Once you've added the object to your trigger, exit the trigger window, then select the object (in this case, the door). It should now have the trigger checkbox ticked, and you should be able to change the duration length.

I used the airlock door on my monorail station, and all it has it activated by trigger checkbox. No duration timer.

yeah there is no duration time, i think some of you are confusing the "delay time" with duration, those 2 things are NOT the same, a duration time would be nice.

Ah, you're correct. For some reason, the doors don't have the duration timer like all the other scenery props do. I just tested with the regular doors and they seemed to stay open until the entire coaster train made its way through. I wonder if it's automatically timed based on the when the last part of the vehicle passes the trigger point?

It would be useful if we could set duration on the trigger action as well. For example we may want a light to stay on for 1s. We would set the lights trigger duration to 1s. What happens if we want the light to stay on for 2s in the same sequence? We would have to add the light twice to the trigger and set the delay on the 2nd copy of the light. This causes a bit of a quirk, if we set action 1 to start at 0s, then action 2 to start at 1s, then only action 1 will fire. We have to set action 2 delay to 1.1s. This then makes our trigger run for 2.1s and there is a small flash inbetween!

I posted some trigger suggestions here:

My solution for this problem was to provide a trigger action multiplier. So for example set light duration to 1s then set trigger action multiplier to x2.
