Thinking about doing the long haul out to Colonia. As the last time I did a long exploration I could only plot 1000ly at a time is there a set of waypoints available for the Colonia voyage or indeed how do I get there?. Tips, advice, thread links welcome.

Bookmark Colonia and plot your course towards the bookmark, simple as that.

and travel via those.
When 2.4 drops, you can plot 20Kly but atm you can still plot only 1000Ly at once.

Here's the list from the thread, for the lazy:
Hillary Depot – Blu Thua AI-A c14-10, planet A 4A
Amundsen Terminal – Lagoon Sector NI-S b4-10, planet 1
Eagle's Landing – Eagle Sector IR-W d1-117, planet 2 A
Sacaqawea Space Port – Skaudai CH-B d14-34, planet 1 A
Gagarin Gate – Gru Hypue KS-T d3-31, planet 4
Polo Harbour – Boewnst KS-S c20-959, planet A 2 A
EDIT: Also note that some of the nebulae that these are in may also have a space port too. This list is just the (more numerous) ground based outposts along the way. Hitting all of them will increase the overall travel distance a little, since it's not a straight line, but it makes the trip more interesting and gives you opportunities to repair, sell scan data, etc.
