Newcomer / Intro Setting up a Kill Warrant Scanner.

How do you set up Kill Warrant Scanner to another fire group, and use it without brandishing the weapons on your ship?

Kws are only needed in Anarchy systems... I avoid these now if I can.... If you want some fun just fly around an anarchy nav point full of cargo...won't have time to scan any thing LoL )

You can use them anywhere for additional bounties. I do all the time.

Actually, KW-scanners are useful outside anarchies. If just performing a "normal scan" (i.e. targeting a ship and looking at it to collect basic information without using a KW-scanner), only bounties in that system will appear. If you use a KW-scanner on them it will show ALL bounties, even from other systems. You have a good chance of making more money that way.

Yes I know kws gives more bounties(and everyone is clean in an anarchy system ) but that means getting to other systems to collect... And all that matters is the target is wanted in the current lawful system (could have a big bounty with kws but you can't fire on him )....., this is shown by the basic scan... I don't want to travel vast distance to collect bounty im lazy just want it from the current system ....

Unless I'm mistaken, once you scan a formerly clean target and they come up wanted in another system, it is lawful to fire upon them. Again, I could be wrong. Can someone else weigh in on this, please?

i used to think that too.... if , in a lawful system they are clean then you are immediately wanted and fined if you fire on them ( hence 200c fine and wanted for a friendly fire... )... even if kws scan shows big bounty in other systems.... So basically kws is not much good in all but anarchy systems.....?? i hardly use mine now...

KWS can notify you of non-local warrants you can claim in the same faction, it generally increases your payoff even in the same system.

You might get a target the is clean in your current jurisdiction but has a 30k bounty elsewhere. In that case paying a fine locally to claim the larger bounty is worth it. I don't know what happens to reputation though.

When you start KW scanning someone that shows up clean on normal scan and they immediately try to flee, they are probably wanted somewhere else. Though some npcs panic and start fleeing from a KW scan even though they are completely innocent, this is just funny.

not worth the hassle of being wanted , going to pay the fine without being scanned ..etc etc... just go to anarchy , scan and kill everything that moves....?? :)

Sure yeah, but there is no hassle in being wanted. Just dock in a station and pay your fine. Whether it is worth it to you or not, that is entirely up to you! I wouldn't bother for a few thousand credits profit, but a few dozen thousands, hell yeah. Just make sure that you don't lose your ship before you claim your bounty!

each to their own... i try to avoid the long arm of the law..... i like those friendly green dots ...LOL..

This is not the main point of the KWS (finding out if some ship is wanted) except in Anarchy.
I use the KWS mainly after I see someone is wanted to increase the bounty.

Usually the extra bounties amount to 50% added to the local one, but sometimes much more.
If you hunt in Independent systems them the extra bounties mostly are from the Major factions, so once in a while I take a trip to Fed or Alliance space to redeem.
Once in a while You get a bounty from some obscure faction that can be difficult to track down though. (Any one know where Blue Netcoms Co are located? they owe me 84000Cr)

In "lawfull" systems, just scan guys that are already wanted, so you might get claim to more than one bounty. Often a neighboring faction will pay a little as well, or another alliance.
Don't go out of your way scanning a guy that is already attacking you and is actually dangerous, or someone close to defeat...

Is that the trick to find some targets? I've gained several ranks in trade and exploration but I'm still Harmless, and want to change that. Took a pirate killing mission, flew to the system and... can't find any. Medium security anarchy. Best I've found groups of NPCs (sometimes shooting at each other) but they scan as clean, and even KWS doesn't change that. Now, they do scan me and say words to the effect shame I have no cargo. So, if I carry some junk would that be enough for them to attack me so I can lawfully fight back?
