Newcomer / Intro Setting up HOTAS Warthog

New to having a Warthog throttle and stick anyway.
I tried downloading the Elite profile from Thrustmaster, I cannot find how to use it from inside the game so I have been mapping it manually from in the game.
How do I get round the way the POV on the throttle and the stick are both called Joy POV1?
Likewise I have a Joy 5 on both, and how is it the main trigger is called Joy 1 and Joy 6?
How do I do the thing where you can hit a switch and get a completely different set of assignments?
This is hard enough on a monitor where I can see everything, whats it going to be like when I try it on my Vive!

Try leaving the default (none) profile, start Elite and controls options select Elite's own Warthog profile from the drop-down menu at the top.

I think that's what I initially selected, I didnt see the Thrust master one. I still wanted to change it a bit.
Another question I forgot to ask, how do I find reverse?, on my old CH stick when you pulled it back it wouldn't just go back to zero like this Warthog, it would continue to reverse.
Looking at these mapped images I found, looks like the "Speedbrake" switch on the r/h throttle is reverse throttle, will have to try this out next time I play.

Look at the throttle axis in "Flight throttle" section. There are two options - Forward only and Full range.

And as for the profiles, none of the joystick I had ever worked with software profile of their own. Every time I had to leave it at default, and bind everything the way I wanted directly in Elite. It's the only way to have it setup just the way you need.
