Setting Up Throttle Problem - Thrustmaster TCA Officer Combo

Hi everyone,

I have the Thrustmaster TCA Officer Combo, which is basically the throttle and joystick. I wanted to try and play Elite with it however at the presets in game it doesnt recognize it. I can choose general joystick only and that makes the joystick function, however the throttle i can not figure out. If anyone knows a way to get around it and explain it to me, I would really appreciate it.

I don't know this one I'm afraid - but, do you have it plugged directly to the mobo usb sockets? Sometimes hubs are underpowered, and secondary controllers for usb ports can misbehave too.

I can't promise it'll do anything at all, but always worth mentioning.

Thanks for responding fast. I have tried them with Microsoft Flight Simulator and it is recognized there. So i believe it plugged in fine. Appreciate the suggestion though.

It may be (highly likely) that there are no preset bindings for this combo - so you'll either have to bind them your own way, or check if something matching is available on the internet, e.g. at https://edrefcard.info/ .
ED can (and players will) use any kind of input device - mouse&keyboard, gamepad, single stick, any number of HOTAS or HOSAS combos, farm machine simulator controllers, 6DOF mice,.... - for some of them, FD provides default binds, others you need to bind yourself.

You're welcome mate. I think though as you say, that as they work fine in msfs it won't be a power issue.

@Ashnak makes a very good point though - can you get the game to recognize them both with trying to set your own keybinds in the options menu? Personally I've always done mine manually, but I have weird hands.

(Don't ask for details.....)
