Setting your Nav-Comp to "Home" System

This may already be possible / been suggested, I don't know. So I thought I'd ask anyway.

It would be really nice if there were a way you could assign a particular system to be your "Home" system in your Galxy Map / Nav Computer. This way, if you have been off on a little jaunt to some far off system it is just a quick click on the map / computer to set your navigation back to "Home", in the same way you do with a Sat-Nav in a car. It will then plot your route back and you can set off in the happy knowledge that you will be home again soon.

Where this comes in particular handiness is when you get a system you happen to really like, but the name is something less memorable like "XYZ BD 13892" or somesuch. Now, sure, I know I could revert to the Stone Age method of actually writing it down (!!), but in fairness, (a) I don't keep a pad and paper anywhere near my computer and I'm too lazy to go and find one anyway (ahem!) and (2) I'm in a gorram space ship. Surely my Space-Nav should have this function in it?! :-D
(Yes I did that ^^ on purpose...)

It's also a good way to set a system that you don't normally go to where you might have left a ship or somesuch. I had a similar thing when I first started playing and found a great trade route, but then promptly forgot which system I originally started the route at. That was rather annoying, to say the least! Heh!

Maybe a "Favourites" section in the Galaxy Map? That would also be awesome.

Personal shortcomings (lazy, i forget) are never a convincing reason when asking for changes.
That has to be fixed at your end.
An option to mark favorites on the galaxy map is still a good suggestion though.
1.1 will bring navigational improvements, we'll see.

I totally agree with you, alrhough its not my laziness that prompts my suggestion. I actually do think it would serve to vastly inprove the sense of belonging in the universe / galaxy / system which makes you want to return and feel like you are part of the world.

At present I feel more like a wandering nomad or space bum that doesnt really belong anywhere. I'd love for stations to start even knowing my name when I arrive or maybe something like a simple news post for the system stating somerhing like CMDR Scorpyon has chosen to set up reaidence in XX System.

You could have a set payment or some such to become a Citizen or similar. Endless possibilities.
