Settings for i5 4590, gtx 1060 6gb, 16gb ram, Lenovo explorer.

Which are the best setting (90fps all time until arrive big station) to play elite dangerous using a Lenovo Explorer on a i5 4590 gtx 1060 6gb 16gb?

I think vr medium and 1 ss 1.2 hmd is a good one, don't you think?

I'm running vr medium without ss with a slightly underclocked 290. I guess a 1060 is a bit faster so you could indeed run some supersampling with it.

Could look into asw reprojection, although turning it on on mixed reallity / steamvr it will always be on and cap to 45 fps even if it could do 90 afaik.

I´ll try to use asw reprojection with medium settings, thank you.

Hey;)

I'd try the following approach: start with medium settings and supersampling 2x. If your card can't handle that without noticeable framedrop, try supersampling 1.5 and increase details step by step.
With my oc'ed 1080 I have supersampling @2x, everything ultra except ambient occlusion (medium here).

Supersampling is IMHO more important than anything else because of the "low" resolution.

Seriously?

You recommend storting with SS of 2x on the equivalent of a 970.

I wouldn't run anywhere near ss of 2x on my far superior machine.
In fact I would recommend starting at 1x AT MOST and low settings.
get a stable baseline of fps. then up settings from there.

But any laptop with a 1060 will not be running much supersampling what so ever.
Spacewarp will be triggered regardless.

I wouldn't use 2.0 super sampling either. Things like shadows, Super Sampling, HMD Image Quality will kill performance as they hard to render. Start with the either low or medium settings and test it in the menus, stations and planet surfaces as these will tank your frame rate. You need to monitor your frame rate and increase one setting at a time. It takes time but the end result is a much better looking game and good performance. It's also a good idea to back out of the game as some settings will not implement until you restart the game.

I've included a shot of my settings so that you can get an idea, the settings that are high and ultra are generally low impact settings. Bear in mind that this is for a Rift and my strategy is to get the settings high enough so that when the ASW kicks in, it stays in as the toggling in and out of ASW causes artifacts and some amount jittering in the image. The GTX 1060 is more capable than my GTX 970 and I've heard that the WMR headsets are a little less demanding than the Rift. Good luck.

Thanks, i will try your settings.
