Settings with GTX1080

Hi there commanders. I was just wondering if anyone out there with a GTX 1080, who are playing with the Vive, could post what they have their graphics settings on within ED. I am using the Stream super sampling hack, but am not sure if I have accidently cranked up a setting within ED as I am getting a rather 'choppy ' experience since yesterday within beta 2.2.

There has been a Windows 10 update over the last few days also, and I am not sure whether that may have affected things.

I would be grateful if anyone could just give am example of their settings.

Cheers

Daveylad.

Hi, I have 1080 GTX and Vive. I have not done a lot of fiddling but the best result I've found so far is to just use the "VR High" setting in ED and not setting super sampling externally. It is still stutters a bit in stations. "VR ultimate" seems worse for stutter with little visual improvement.

I hope these issues are resolved on final release, but it all looks very promising compared with 2.1

Oh my.. the "in-game" settings are really, really bad. Try the settings in the link above. The improvment is huge.

Currently, I use

SS: External-2.0 Ingame-.75
HUD: Green (Really important you change you HUD colour)
Base GFX Setting
:VR High(Med)
--Changed from VR High(Med):
AA: SMAA
Ambient Occlusion: Medium
Then played around with textures from there.

Unfortunately, people are getting a range of results even with the same CPU/GPU. I'd say just start by setting your external SS to 1.5/2 and the in-game SS to .65, then change your HUD to another colour - green's and blues seem to work best - set ingame to VR med and start from there with texture/effect settings.

Thanks all for the responses. I am happy to report the stuttering I am getting is due to a bug in 2.2 beta 3 and not my settings. Hopefully beta 4 will resolve the issue. Well here's hoping!
